UMR is an awful insurance provider

UMR is the worst insurance provider I have ever been covered by. Completely incompetent customer service. They make constant errors in processing claims, deny basic care based on procedure codes that they claim arent covered. Good luck getting any help of you have an issue - their care advocates will transfer you around, put you on hold and drop calls until you finally give up. They are an absolute garbage company and are everything that is wrong with the broken healthcare system in the US.

Worst insurance

This is the worst insurance. I submitted a medical claim on March 10, 2023. I have been calling every other week to get the status of my claim, but they keep saying that I have to wait more time, that they are working on it. Almost 5 months and they cannot finish the claim that I sumbitted or provide me with an update.

Terrible administrative process!

I've now experienced what others have reported about UMR. They denied my very first insurance claim, saying that it was a pre-existing condition and then taking 7 months to receive forms from my doctor (numerous wrong forms were sent, then lost, etc)..and my doctors have proof that they've returned completed forms...just to have them assess whether it was pre-existing, which it wasn't. Stay clear of UMR.

Denial to pay bills

Disregarding inflation cost. Two different companies. One insurance and than flex card smote. They don't work together. You have to waste your time to do their work. Looks like scam. Don't know why union administrators chooses UMR as their health provider. Bad customer service, policies. All UMR care is profit over the people.

Absolute WORST insurance we have ever had the displeasure to have

No provider list is EVER provided. We NEVER receive a list of coverages either. It is near impossible to find providers that are in-network. Website is AWFUL to navigate. I DISPISE this company with a passion and will do my best to get the head of the company voted out so we can go back to BCBS. EVERYONE is in network with BCBS. BCBS always pays its bills too. I spend a multitude of hours/days/weeks trying to find in-network providers, which delays my appointments & procedures. This company is an absolute mess. RUN, don't walk, to any other company.

Too afraid to use the insurance for normal care

Out of pocket expenses are high even after paying 1600 a month for insurance. At this point it would better to just pay everything out of pocket.

Awful Company

First course of action is always to deny claims even when the money is yours. Processors don't read individual company policies and wait for you to fight to get your own money. This company is a joke. They waste people's time. Their automated phone system sucks, it never sends you to the right group and you spend hours being transferred. I have reported this company multiple times but because they are not "an insurance company" my state cannot take action against them. I have actually avoided using a dependent care account because it is run through UMR. I would rather pay the taxes then to deal with them.

Mind as well be an illegal immigrant

The insurance cost is high, and until you meet your deductible, you have to pay 100% of doctor costs.

UMR is dirty

Our company switched to UMR from Blue Cross 3 years ago, and they have been the worst in customer service, deny prior authorizations, deny letting us keep and choose our own doctors, etc. They charge us more per paycheck with less benefits provided. They messed up and claimed I didnt do the necessary physician screening for my wellness credits, and I had to appeal that just for them to claim they fixed it and I still lost two paychecks worth of that, through no fault of mine. They automatically reject every single prior authorization for prescriptions., when medication really ought not to be denied to anyone.

Worst insurance I have ever had

This insurance is the worst insurance I've ever had. Customer service is horrible, I was on the phone for over 3 hours trying to ask questions about my benefits and when I wasn't hang up on I was tranfer to different departments that had nothing to do with what I needed and that is just of the issues I have with this insurance. I don't know how UMR is related to UnitedHealth care because I've had UHC before and never had any issues. I will definitely shop for other insurance as soon as I can. It I not worth what am paying monthly.

Claim/Denied health charges

This is the worst insurance I've ever. I don't understand how they're allowed to take people's money, and then when they use their insurance, like they're supposed to you get charged and arm and a leg. I had a test completed, (female testing) and they labeled the test experimental. I wasn't aware that having a *** uterus, cervix was experimental. Absolutely a joke and a waste of money. Worst part, i work in health care, like?? How are you going to give your health care professions the worst insurance and expect them to be able to stay healthy when they use their insurance it's like buying a whole new car. I would recommend to waste your money with Anthem as they actually cover you and don't charge an arm and a leg. If the claim cannot be resolved, it's going to be between God and the insurance company on how that gets paid. UMR should be ashamed.

UMR is disappointing

UMR has changed so much in the last 7 years. It's virtually impossible to talk to an actual person, and if you're lucky enough to reach someone, they have no idea what they're talking about. I thought the different departments at least communicated with each other, but I have received different answers from each person I spoke to. I just kept getting transferred from one place to another. Since my surgery pre determination was not technically "life threatening ", they have 15 days to review the case. Well apparently, they have never been in severe pain awaiting a surgical complication revision. Last week I was on the phone getting transferred from one place to another for 6 HOURS. I desperately need the insurance, but shame on them for dragging their feet and avoiding phone calls!!!
